CSS Spectrum Management Services have been established since 1997. For the past 10 years we have been supporting the UK and Northern Irish Water Industry in relation to their SCADA Scanning Telemetry Systems and Private Mobile Radio (PBR) Systems on behalf of TAUWI.  

The role of CSS is to manage the radio spectrum allocated by Ofcom for the dedicated use of the Water Industry. In addition to these channels a number of additional channels are managed for non utilities organisations such as Oil Companies. In return for the management of these channels the Water Industry has been able to use these additional channels in areas throughout the UK and Northern Ireland where there is no possibility of interference to the offshore operators.

Alongside this work CSS has also been involved in the testing and implementation of non utilities projects – one such project was the Severnside Siren Trust. From the initial planning and consultation with the project co-ordinators to the final signal strength field testing of the radio equipment, CSS were involved.
